AEM Plug and Play Engine Management System.

AEM's Plug & Play Engine Management System (EMS) plugs directly into a vehicle's factory ECU harness and requires no additional wiring or hardware. Windows™ compatible software (2000, XP, NT, 98, 95, ME) makes the task of copying, viewing and manipulating data as simple as a click of the mouse. An integrated tuning wizard allows users to create a base map specifically for a car’s configuration, regardless of what type of injectors, sensors, coils or other changes have been made. The AEM EMS's infinitely adjustable software allows tuners to program virtually any combination of engine control, power adders and auxiliary devices, and accurately delivers proper amounts of fuel and correct ignition timing for any boost level or operating condition.

AEM’s Universal Programmable Engine Management System adapts to any vehicle using the company’s flying lead wiring harness and sensors (sold separately). In addition to the features found in our Plug & Play EMS, AEM’s Universal EMS also includes 10 independent, built-in peak & hold injector driver channels, direct drive ignition and dual wideband UEGO controllers. Peak & Hold injector drivers enable users to utilize low impedance injectors with a true 4/1 Peak & Hold injector drive circuit. The Direct Drive ignition feature allows users to drive a coil directly from the ECU without the need for an igniter or ignition module, and a wideband UEGO controller is an essential tuning tool that provides a 0-5 signal for monitoring and tuning air/fuel ratios (AFR) on heavily modified high-performance engines.

AEM’s digital multi-channel Twin-Fire Ignition is the lightest, smallest and most cost effective ignition module on the market. This unit is available in four- and eight-channel configurations, works with O.E.M. coil-on-plug and distributed spark systems, and is ideal for applications that utilize aftermarket stand-alone engine management systems. 

Our Twin Fire Ignition module is the only capacitive discharge ignition system available with dual capacitors. This enables the Twin-Fire to produce more spark energy and voltage per spark than any other available capacitive discharge ignition unit. AEM’s exclusive Twin-Cap technology stores the energy for two distinct spark events and allows for full energy for each individual plug, including high-rpm V8s, and even on rotary engines utilizing separate leading and trailing ignition maps.

SENSORS

AEM offers several sensor and Plug & Pin connector kits for vehicles that require additional outputs and/or upgraded hardware over existing sensors. Available sensors include boost/backpressure sensors, exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensors, nitrous oxide/brake pressure sensors, UEGO replacement sensors, inlet air temp sensors (IAT), K-Type sensors and more. All sensors come with a three- wire mating connector with 12" leads for ease of installation.

A wideband UEGO sensor controller accurately monitors Air/Fuel ratios (AFR) during the tuning process to prevent a lean fuel mixture, which could lead to engine damage. AEM's Wideband UEGO Controller is available in single- and dual-channel models for everything from four-cylinders to V10s, and is the most affordable UEGO sensor controller available. This unit has a very low current draw, and features both 0-5v calibrated output and 0-1v calibrated output to mimic the factory narrow band sensor, eliminating the chance of a factory computer issuing a trouble code. This unit works with virtually any stand-alone engine management system.
